When will someone sue the Flagstaff school district and make them offer good services for disabled children? They allow autistic children to walk off campus in elementary schools there....

Default Welcome to Arizona

Welcome to Arizona, our whole education system is a mess. Flagstaff's one of the better ones. We are a hard right state that hates taxes, and thus cannot spend very much on a functioning education system. Luckily you live in flagstaff, where the charter system is working well, will give a good education, and is free. You have Northland Prep, Basis, and many more depending on grade level. State law makes sure every student gets the education they need, so charter schools are required to give such services. I would seriously consider them.

Thank god Flagstaff is a unified school district (K-12). I had the misfortune of first attending a K-8 district (Kyrene) and then a 9-12 district (Tempe Union High School) when my family first moved to Phoenix when I was in the 7th grade.

The first year of high school was spent trying to get us up to speed on what we should've been learning in 8th grade to prepare us for high school. Completely inefficient use of resources.

That said, FUSD isn't great, but it's far from the worst school district in the state, and at least it's unified.
