Aren't these things urban legends, like the skunk ape?

Pretty nasty looking creatures, I must say!

Yea, he's one scary lookin' dude! You know, we have friends in Jersey and supposedly there really was supposed to have been a creature like that. But I also thought it was just a legend.

Have there ever been any reported sightings of it in Fla?

Stories suggesting Chupacabra activity can be found in newspapers dating back to the 1950s. In fact, the first reported case in North America was in Arizona sometime around 1956. Although incidents have been reported in Arizona, Oregon, Michigan, Illinois, New Jersey, New Mexico, Florida, and parts of Chile, Brazil and Mexico, the majority of activity has occurred in Puerto Rico. A rash of attacks plagued various regions of Puerto Rico in 1995. In Canovanas alone, several hundred livestock fatalities were attributed to the Chupacabra.

Was the chupacabras the figment of agitated imaginations? Could the witnesses have mistaken a fox or a panther for this weird creature? Was it, after all, just a superstition? In any case, the killings continued. In March, 1996, chupacabras struck for the first time in the United States. It had somehow crossed the Caribbean and slain 40 animals in a rural area northwest of Miami, Florida. On May 2, a report came from the Rio Grande Valley in southern Texas: a six-year-old pet goat was found dead with the unmistakable puncture wounds of chupacabras. On that same day, the creature appeared further south in Juarez, Mexico, where it preyed on dogs and other small mammals. More witnesses verified chupacabras' description: the row of spikes or feather-like projections running down its spine; the way it stands upright on three-toed feet with its forearms suspended at chest level, not unlike a kangaroo; its large sometimes glowing eyes. The next day, May 3, in northern Mexico, the village of Calderon is terrorized by a giant "bat-like" creature that feasted on the blood of several goats. Like a scene out of Frankenstein, farmers formed vigilante groups to try and stop the monster, but without success. Throughout May, reports came in from all over Mexico where chupacabras left dead cows, sheep, and rams in its bloody wake.

Probably not as many sightings now 'cuz he adapted enuff to drive a Hummer instead of walk

But really, I love this stuff !! If you see a person walking around Palm Beach County
with this shirt on :

It will be me

The Jersey Devil goes back hundred of years and there are still sightings.
There is a lot of local lore, books, stories etc of him in the Jersey
Pine Barren areas. It is a very ominous place at night.

Does anyone remember the X-File episode ?

The Florida Skunk Ape Is The Southernmost Bigfoot In The U.S.A.

The Skunk Ape, what Floridians call their local version of Bigfoot, is known as Sasquach in most other places in North America. Evidence supporting the existance of the creature has been gathered over the years and consists of the hundreds of documented sightings, a few pictures, several foot casts and a couple of hair samples. Many questions have yet to be answered and as people investigate further in to the mystery of the Skunk Ape, we seem to be getting closer to the truth.

Is it real or not? Well, that's for you to decide.

Where did it come from?

No one is sure where the Skunk Ape came from, maybe it was here all the time. As humans started to spread around the Earth we infringed on its once beautiful and hidded sanctuary, and we noticed that we were not alone, and so did they. Some folks believe that the Skunk Ape is a close relative of the Bigfoot that lives in the Pacific North West. Some folks believe it's the same as the Bigfoot of the Pacific North West. Some folks believe it's a paranormal beast. Some folks believe it to be a myth. Some folks believe it to be hoax. What do you think it is?

Whether the Skunk Ape is a relative of Pacific North West Bigfoot or a hoax, it's not hard to believe that a being could live within the vast expanse of the Florida Everglades, existing hidden from our civilization. Imagine a culture of hominoids evolving side by side with humans, taking their own path. Is it possible? Well if you take in to consideration that we once thought the earth was flat! And we once thought that the moon was made of green cheese! And a long time ago, we even thought that Milli Vanilli could sing! Anything is possible.
