of course polifact, a left leaning organization, would say that.

In regards to the NPAs, Mr. Nill Cowles (D) Orange County SOE (supervisor of election), and Mr. Michael Ertle (R) seminole county SOE, each delivered remarks at the same Central Florida Leadership forum hosted by the law firm of Gray Robinson in Orlando, FL in the fall of 2014. Together the two Supervisers of Elections were in agreement that the primary reason for increased number of NPA voters is the relatively new opportunity to register to vote when applying for a driver's license. People applying for a drivers license may register to vote, but may have not yet thought through the philosophical principles associated with the political party's affiliation. the citizen who goes to the department of motor vehicles (DMV) office to apply for a driver's license is not thinking about registering to vote or affiliating with a political party when they embark on the journey to the DMV.
Therefore, the citizen registers to vote as a convenience but abstains from a political party affiliation due to the process. registering voters at the DMV actually undermines the party affiliation amount voters and reduces the turnout in the primary process. This phenomenon reported by both Democrat and Republican SOE supports the premise that more education is needed in public schools that prepare young people to be civically active and responsible citizen voters.

As for NPAs leaning more Democratic. Again, you are wrong, just looks at historical state wide elections. R's have more wins in their columns than D's do over the past 15 years.

Republicans have more wins in Florida because they Gerrymandered the hell out of it to reduce Democratic representation in the Florida legislature. Look no further than district 5 for proof of that:

many of the Gerrymandering laws (like Corrine Brown's) are FEDERALLY mandated.

And I wasn't talking about legislative districts for the wins. I am talking about STATE WIDE wins. We still have more wins, you cant gerrymander STATE WIDE wins

Sounds like there are more independents, not blue voters

This is absolutely true! I was so overwhelmed & exhausted by the 1300 mile move that I was delirious when I was at the DMV. (Plus a screaming 2 year old on my hip didn't help). I was completely caught off guard by the ability to register to vote at the same time as obtaining my license, I ended up registering as an independent.

The best community for liberal transplants is probably in NY or CA.

Politifact is not "left-leaning". The premise that it functions to dispel lies and half-truths via facts may make it seem "left-leaning" due to average liberal values, but not so much. Given that a majority of the lies and half-truths come from conservative sources I would suppose it may seem that way to you.
