“Now it’s a dump, a real dump,” Mangual said.

Sounds to me he's lucky to get $66K.

How do we not know he was content staying there though, despite the changes?

That's not the point. The point is he's being forced to sell to "investors" by the three piece suited thugs in Tallahassee. What if he doesn't want to sell? This guys financial well being is basically destroyed because of another law benefiting the rich and connected.

Ahhhh yes, "Section 8".

I've always said the fastest way to cure even the most pie-eyed idealist was to move in a herd of "Section 8" renters in the immediate vicinity of the home they're working so hard to pay off. Their opinions will change fast when little Justin and Taylor can't walk around the cul de sac safely anymore because the 'underprivileged residents' have moved into the big apartment building down the street.

As far as condo residents being forced out, this is what happens when the "oh, that will never happen" fine print actually happens. Condos, mobile homes, any time you don't own the dirt under your house, you're vulnerable to this sort of thing.

Can they take it? Kelo v The City of New London says yes, they can.
It is legal for a city to eminent domain your house if a 'developer' says he needs to build a shopping mall.
Don't like it? FURIOUS about that?
Well, that's what's been happening while you were watching football or the Kardashians.

People get the governments they deserve. We're very quickly falling into that same category.

THIS is why we purchased a single family home non HOA or restrictive community. I would rather DEAL with my purple house next door nieborhoods then a HOA. My next door is going for foreclosure so I know that purple house will be sold.

We in the mean time will do everything to cut the grass and make it at least appealing from the outside. That might mean having a painting party to finally get rid of the place, with the banks permission or our community demands of it.

So if your house is inside a gated commuity which has a HOA with condos and townhouses the investment group can force you to sale your house also?
