Does this dufus understand that he is encouraging the importation of a deadly disease?!?!?
They all need to be sent back packing.

Nah, they need to not be getting on the plane in the first place, but if they end up here, they need to go through mandatory quarantine. Sending back and forth is a terrible idea, I think.

I remember a certain person calling for the Miami Beach mayor's head because of the lack of beach closures during Spring Break. They were actually mad about the handling of the Gillum situation and channeling it through the COVID-19 stuff. It looks like their boy DeSantis is actually the one taking the heat for Miami and the state in general...nationally.

Mayors making the beach closure call is ineffective and inefficient given how small many of those communities are anyway. Those college students would just go a mile up the road to the next municipality that was still open.

Yes, except for any kind of truly essential personnel or cargo.

How would that work? If, God forbid, my mother is deathly ill, I’d think I should be able to go see her, no? Or would Amtrak or driving be my only option? And if so, what difference would my mode of transportation make?

No, you generally should not go visit her in person. It’s likely a greater risk to her, to you, and to everyone else around you both including whomever is providing healthcare to her.

Yea, because if there’s any chance that she would have lived longer than that, you just further jeopardized it and then risked the health of many other people in the process including your own which mom, when in a present state of mind, probably does not want you to do.
