If you could move anywhere in Florida where would it be and why?

Just wondering.

If within reasonable context of cost of living, the premise of already having a job there and the usual criteria of safer, near things to do and whatnot probably someplace that actually feels more like FL (versus Central FL where I am now). Places like Northeast Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, St Petersburg or Sarasota.

If I decided to stay in Florida, which I am not doing, Somewhere in or near the panhandle where I could afford a good amount of acreage for equestrian/atv/target stuff, and a fraction of the people compared to swfl.

For me, it would be somewhere clean, not too hectic (ie Miami), tropicalish, and has good schools. Sarasota, Jupiter, and Boca Raton are the closet fits for me in that order.

I like smaller towns and prefer North Florida, so I'd pick Fernandina Beach for the Atlantic side and maybe DeFuniak Springs for the panhandle.

As far as bigger cities go, Tallahassee is my favorite and I could be happy living there given the right circumstances.

As far as inland small towns go, I like Live Oak and High Springs. I'd love to be near the Suwannee River and the state parks in that area.

If this is a COL question, I’m sorry to say it, but just about all of Florida is relatively expensive, especially if you plan on working for local wages.

A small town in north florida panhandle. Perhaps between Tally and Panama.

The Panhandle seem to get cooler weather compared to northeast Florida and has a heavier tree canopy. Beaches are nicer off the panhandle coast as well.

Too bad it's all getting eaten up by development. Pretty soon there'll be no land left along the coastal areas of FL. Not a good investment considering the area is supposed to be under water in five years, or they say... but that's a different topic.

If I could afford to live ANYWHERE in Florida, then I'd be able to afford to move to Santa Fe, New Mexico. That's probably what I'd do.
