Florida positives only please.

What is your single most favorite thing to do in Florida?
Resident/Non Resident

We are non resident until NMS picks us up......

Me:

1. Swimming in the Ocean

Wife:

1. Walt Disney World, she said when you get off the tram you are in a world all of its own.

Daughter:

1. Building Sandcastles and of course WDW

Thought it would be neat to see what current Florida residents and non residents favorite thing to do is.

Hands down being on the water...weather it be fishing, diving or just enjoying a day out in the ocean! Add camping in the mix and I have died and gone to heaven.

Gotta be the dog beach.

A close second is the wonderful smell in the air this time of year with all of the citrus trees in bloom.

Non-resident AT THE MOMENT~ It's got to be playing in the ocean or lying on the beach. The first time we ever saw the ocean was at Daytona and it was such an awesome site!

We also love Seaworld. They have the neatest shows there with all the whales and dolphins. It's just so pretty there, too.

I love these positive threads, too. The only problem with them is it makes me sad cause I can't live there for 11 more months.

Resident - being at the ocean, hands down. It's amazing. I love to drive down the beach, park the car, put the windows back and relax listening to the sound of the waves crashing. I also love walking my toddler out into the waves as they splash against her legs and hearing her shriek in happiness. I also love on a Sunday morning grabbing a bagel sandwhich and Starbuck's and sitting at the ocean to watch the sunrise and catch some glimpses of dolphins as I eat my breakfast.

I have lived in Orlando for over 5 years now. For me the biggest positives about living in Florida are :

1) Life on the beach - volleyball, surfing

2) Kennedy Space Center

3) Wildlife - Everglades, Cape Canaveral National Seashore are great places for spotting wildlife

4) Fresh Water springs - like Blue, Juniper, Wekiva

Default Like about Florida

I'm currently a non-resident, but here are the things I like about visiting Florida:

Beaches
Palm trees
Sand
Warm weather
Swimming
Friendly people
Wildlife (dolphins, birds, etc)

I'm wondering about all the other posts from residents - How long have the things you've listed been your favorite Florida things? Do the beaches get less exciting to visit after you've lived there a few years? I will be moving there in the near future and I'm wondering if I will always like these things. I can't see myself getting tired of the things I've listed above, in fact, I am looking forward to adding to the list after I move there.

Resident: Heading down to Key West for a long weekend, watching the sunsets, snorkeling near the reefs and seeing tropical fish, and revisiting some of our favorite spots (Turtle Kraals, Hog's Breath, Captain Tony's, among others). Also love the Everglades, which I consider a must-see for nature-minded nonresidents.
