Inside your home with air conditioner.

usually after 6:00pm during the summer is more tolerable.

This weather is bad, bad bad. I can't stand it.

Default You will never escape the humidity

I commute from Orlando to Sarasota/Venice every week. work all week in ORL and weekends home in Venice.

Orlando is about 2-3 degrees hotter and holds heat longer.

ex: 94 deg in ORL at 3p and 84 deg at 8p. 91 deg in Venice ( right on the coast ) and 82 at same time.

I do notice that temps drop off a little in Titusville on coast when I watch the Orlando weather.

I also did the Ft. Myers thing 2-3 years ago and found it 2 deg hotter in Ft. Myers.

They also say that Rt4 is a dividing line of hot/cool weather especially in the winter.

Threads like this always make me chuckle - where is less hot, less humid, safe from hurricanes, etc. This is Florida, it's hot, humid and we get hurricanes! lol

Anyway, as others have already said, the coastal areas are the coolest and the interior of the state the hottest, even in northern Florida. We moved from Lakeland to Sarasota, where it is often four or more degrees cooler than Lakeland, and we get a bit of Gulf breeze most of the time. That said, nights are cooler in the interior of the state, but not that much to make a big difference.

I've lived in Daytona Beach and Tallahassee (currently in Tallahassee). Daytona is more moderate. Warmer in the winter, and not quite as brutally hot in the summer because it is on the coast.

As others have said, your best bet is coastal North Florida, and when I say coastal, I mean no more than about 3-5 miles from the coast. Daytona to Fernandina Beach on the east coast, or the coastal Panhandle on the west coast. But, this is Florida and August is 90+ degrees everywhere in the state.

And if they stick to the north east coast they have less chance of a hurricane. No guarantee, though.

Probably coastal SE Florida. The heat and humidity is still very high but the breeze breaks it a little bit. Average afternoon humidity is around 65-70% which is unpleasant but beats the 80-100% that can be found inland or on the gulf.

Daytona and north of that point, the closer to the ocean the better.
