cooking as we like the fresh vegetables and it is a change from the meat/potatoes/pasta trend.
One thing some folks might have to watch out for is that a lot of the receipes call for either peanuts or cashews and might have a reaction to those items.

We don't live close to any restaurants that offer this so I have so good cookbooks and have at it.

Doing Swimming Rama tonight: chicken cooked in a peanut sauce and put over wilted spinich with a side of Jasmine rice and Thai Tea.

Sounds yum! Enjoy. Thanks for sharing.
What is with jasmine rice though? (I've never had it.) I see it's very popular all over the place.
What is the diff. between that and my fav. sticky white rice?

I love Thai food. When I make it I cook the jasmine rice in coconut water instead of regular water. YUMMY!

Hunter your meal tonight sounds mouth-wateringly delicious! If I cook Thai at home it's usually some kind of curry or a spicy thai basil sauce.

B4U, jasmine rice is a fragrant (but still mild tasting) long-grain white (or brown) rice. It's sort of like basmati rice but the white jasmine cooks up even fluffier with just a tad more stickiness to it. It's not clumpy like sticky rice. Get a little and try it - I doubt you'll be disappointed!

Thanks, tootsie. But my question is; do you buy "jasmine" rice, or do you buy a particular type rice and add something to get the jasmine flavor, like jasmine tea, or something?

First look where they have the regular rice and if it isn't there look in the International Foods aisle by the Asian stuff.
