So I managed to score the set of colored knives--woo hoo! Unfortunately they didn't come with a block. Any suggestions? Can I put them on a magnetic strip or would that dull their sharpness? Is it ok to just put them in a drawer? The knives are pretty wide and it's a set of 8, so I'm not sure I could find a block for them.

I'm not familiar with the specific knives, but a general comment is that the magnetic strip will NOT dull them, as long as you are careful to not have the sharp edge of the knive come into blunt contact with the strip (or anything that is hard and would cause it to get dull). IMO, knives in the drawer are more likely to bang together and therefore more likely to get dull. If you have to put them in a drawer, or any form of 'bin', then protect the sharp edge by either wrapping them in a towel, or some other form of "edge protector". It's also a good safety practice.

Along the same lines, you should probably not put them in the dishwasher, but if you absolutely MUST for some reason, then put them on the top shelf, laying flat, without contact to other knives or other objects to bump into them. Again, protect the sharp edge and you'll be OK.

My dad has a magnetic strip he has used since I was a little boy, many moons ago. Hasn't affected any of his knives. And I have a couple little scars on fingers to prove it! lol

With a magnetic strip, whether the blades are pointing up or down, I think I'd stab myself.

I've always just kept mine in a drawer and they've been fine so far (i've always had more drawer space than counter space though)

I'm a drawer guy too as counter space is always more precious around here.

I've got to admit though I've always looked enviously at some of the magnetic strip displays I've seen. Makes me want to grab a knife off 'em and start chopping.
