Oh Denise feel better-a summer cold-bummer.

Sounds like a plan Elston.

Molochai-keep an eye on the weather-not looking good in your area.

Cold and rainy here-but think we're going out tonight.

Question for NC transplants: Anyone have the feeling that NC's popularity may be both blessing and curse? I have a bit of an aversion to 'trendy' or 'boomtown' and an curious how others feel.
Trendy and boomtown are only in the cities as far as I have seen. Trendy is more near the Asheville area and boomtown is some of the more city type areas which is great for those needing jobs! Our area is very rural and some changes happening but nothing close to what I would consider boomtown. It's very down to earth and small town. There is a lot of areas here to enjoy that are not having those growing pains. It would be great if more transplants bought existing homes and didn't want to have homes built as that is kind of sad to see the beautiful trees removed for entire new neighborhoods. I guess that is progress though. I have not in any way felt as though NC has been a curse---my personal opinion and we have been here a little over a year now. I have not questioned our move for a second. It is more then we could have hoped for. Trendy and boomtown are defintiely not what I was looking for. I wanted beauty, good weather, affordable prices and friendly people and it is all of that plus more. No regrets here and to be honest I haven't heard of anyone yet that has been unhappy with their move here although I am sure there are some----not everyone is always happy with the same things!!

these thoughts have also crossed my mind. Many are going to NC and Tenn. only to find that lots of others have had the same idea. But it hard to see into the future...........good luck to us all where ever we may end up.

Eating out the last few nights---a good break. Will probably be eating out more in the days to come---many reasons but I still appreciate the break from the kitchen although home cooking sure beats eating out!!

I just cook em on low over night, for about 12 hours with some mushrooms and green chilies added and some BBQ sauce. I also add salt pork too.
