No, these types of places are very filthy, crowded, noisy, people bring all their 6 kids who never behave. Just look at the bathrooms, will tell you all you need to know...

I refuse to eat that these all you can eat buffets. These places are the reason Americans are so darn fat. The food is nasty and full of God knows what and yet these ppl keep cramming it down their throats because it's all you can eat.......and no one at these places look like they've ever missed a meal. It's gross it's like a feeding frenzy for goodness sake!!! ( I've been to an Old Country Buffet....once...and once was more than enough)

Milabs your right about the fat people eating at Golden Corral. I've seen people that looked like they are 300 to 500 lbs here in Cookeville I just wonder what keeps people from suing restaurants like this one for making people over weight?

Hahaha, I'm a sucker for buffets, as much as I know I should be grossed out by them. Golden Corral actually has a "decent" buffet compared to some of the others I've had the displeasure of sampling. Growing up we didn't have a lot of money, so I remember correlating Golden Corral with "special occasion dining!"

Default Golden Corral

We jokingly call it the "hog trough" for reasons (good and bad) already posted by others. Not a fan of all-you can-eat either, but a couple times a year won't kill ya. The kids really like this place because of the variety; the prices aren't bad, and the food (when we've gone) has been pretty decent.

Yup. I can't believe people would voluntarily go there, much less call it "outstanding cuisine."

I don't think they'd have a case. No one is forcing them to eat that food and no one is forcing them to eat such huge amounts that they consume at these buffets. It's a personal choice. I just think these kinds of people think it's a free for all and they have to get their money's worth.

We have one here and it's so disgusting. I've only been to one other, in Chattanooga, and it was just as bad.

Until they find an antibiotic for MRSA, it's unlikely you'll see me at a buffet anyway. Too many take dirty plates up to refill, touching the serving spoon to their plates as they go. Couple that with the constant problem of food not being at a safe temperature, and you have a recipe for disaster. (No pun intended)

I had a brutal case of food poisoning once. That was enough!

MRSA, salmonella/shigella, E.coli, giardia, Hepatitis A--just to name a few. Nope, don't go out too much anymore.
