In my quest to live an extremely healthy lifestyle, I decided to give up caffeine. For a couple weeks, I did so completely, but then I decided to start drinking green tea lattes instead of coffee. I noticed that when I do, I have more energy and no crash. But I know they still have quite a bit of caffeine in them, and there are many detriments to having caffeine.
What do you guys think? Is any amount of daily caffeine too detrimental to justify?
My philosophy is this... you can live as healthy as humanely possible, yet in the end you are assured nothing more than what genetics have provided you with, so, live life to the fullest, enjoy every waking moment, practice all things in moderation, and be happy!
I drink decaffeinated green tea every night, and have for about two years now. I believe it is why I feel better and have not had any Menieres attacks or allergy problems.
I am a major coffee drinker but cannot tolerate green tea, it actually makes me physically ill.
Outside of the coffee I don't do anything else excessively but I also don't over analyze or stress over what I consume.
If I want ice cream I have iceam I just don't have and entire pint or quart or anything like that. I have a one serving size cup and I do not have it every day.
If you like green tea and it makes you feel better then drink green tea.
i drink coffee all the time. breakfast, lunch, dinner. when i was stationed overseas i develped a taste for green tea. they had green tea tea bags at the sushi counters with the rotating conveyor belt with sushi plates on them. you walk in, sit down, grab your chopsticks, you small sauce plate, add soy and wasabi, grab your tea cup, bag, and they had water dispensers right there at your seating position. now i drink green tea all the time. helps with digestion. dosen't break the bank.

The issue might be the tannic acid since it bothers me if I drink too much. Also, there are different qualities and I have notice that the more expensive teas are easier on my stomach and reduce the amount of bathroom visits which can haunt me with the cheaper teas.
