Last night I got home late and we decided to order pizza, rather than starve to death waiting for dinner to be ready.
We ordered a two topping pizza from Domino's...delivered. It was very good, and very hot, but it was over $20, including tip. DH and I thought this was outrageous.
Are we right, or wrong?
You have to look for coupons and specials when dealing with Domino's - they often have coupons in the phone book - look in the Yellow Pages. Also they distribute coupons in the newspaper ad package.
you are right that is outrageous although I never touch pizza my husband pays 12 dollars for a large pizza with two toppings ...and that is delivered of course he gives them a tip . Nobody should have to work for min wage without tips .
I know, right? But if it is an impromptu order from a local (frequent) customer, why rip me off? I put in a comment on the Domino's website, but so far, no response.
Hindsight being 20/20, I think I could have gotten 2 medium pizzas for less money, but that is not what I wanted.
"How much is fair for a pizza?" depends on what your idea of a pizza is. If it's chain stuff, then yeah, $20 is outrageous.
I have no issue paying $13-$15 for a pizza, although I'm very picky on where I get mine. There are 1,115 places in the Pittsburgh metro that serve pizza. I would buy from perhaps 20, if that.
When I order from Dominos I try to stick with the deals or just order pizza. I can live without a sandwich, breadsticks, a soda, pasta, and wings. However, when I want to mix it up I do the $5.99 thing where you order more than 1 of the items for that deal.
Less than $10-$12 per pizza from a chain. I have spent over $20 for one medium one topper here in Chicagoland.
ETA sign up at their site and they will email you deals. The same for Papa Johns and Pizza Hut. Right now I have the option to order one pizza from PJ before 12Nov and earn a free pizza. I live for these types of deals.
for 20 bucks i can go sit at a bar and get a better meal, so for me no pizza is worth 20 bucks, not unless you really like pizza and you are really lazy and just want to sit at the house like a hermit
Pizza places screw the everliving hell out of you if you don't get a special or have a coupon. I don't know why they do this, but it's extremely annoying.
A lot of places will have specials like 2 large 2-topping pizzas and breadsticks for $20. But the girlfriend wants a Hawaiian pizza which has 3 toppings...one large Hawaiian pizza and one large pepperoni pizza...that comes to $38.99...with no breadsticks. WTF?
Can I get the special and you charge me for the extra topping? "Sorry sir we can't do that." F%$#!
Or worse, their specials all have some BS like Oreo pizza, cinnastix, or a 2-liter of pop, none of which I have any interest in.
