Nope, pretty common 'round these parts! But tonight we're having pork roast with cabbage.

A significant thunder and lightning storm cancelled our plans to eat out......so I am braising some pork steak with garlic onion and apple. I deglazed the pan with chicken broth. Will serve with egg noodles and/or rice and sweet and sour red cabbage.

i took my son out for seafood

we had an appetizer of steamers(clams) with butter..

then

i had fried clams (whole belly) and he had a seafood platter.. (not only the plates got smaller the portions are half what they use to be)
then for dessert, we split the twin lobster special... mmmmmmmmmmmm

it was good, on the ocean, a floating restaurant.

Ah.....I miss good seafood the most since I moved from Maine. It sounds so wonderful. I agree about portions.....I can remember back some years ago...quite a few actually....going out to a bar and ordering steamers and a pitcher of beer. the clams came on a cafeteria tray...full of clams....with a bowl of broth for dunkin them and butter for the sheer joy of butter......clams used to be really inexpensive.....now you have to be satisfied with a pound per person as a serving.....I think we used to get at least 3 pounds in an order.....a tray of clams and a couple of pitchers of beer...and that was an evening out.
