I've never used baking soda in my tea and it has never been cloudy or bitter. You cannot bring water to a boil with tea that is what causes the bitterness. That is a good trick to know! Thanks!

As a southerner I have never had bitter tea when making my own but I always boil the water and then add the tea bags after the sugar dissolves and then I let the tea steep. Thanks for sharing the tip through.
