Anybody know how long you can keep unopened ice cream in the freezer? I have one from May 09, and I was wondering if it's still good.

If it's not freezer burned, I would think it's still good. We stock up on ice cream whenever the good stuff goes on sale, and keep it in our deep freeze. We've had some for months, and never had a problem.

I don't have just one favorite, it really depends on my mood. It also depends on where I'm getting it. Store bought is easy: Ben & Jerry's Coffee Toffee Crunch.

Uncle Louie G's: a tossup between pistachio, and their super-rich ultra-dark chocolate italian ice.

Wentworth's: They used to have, as one of their "adult" flavors, Kahlua Skor-Bar. It was coffee ice cream flavored with real actual Kahlua, and they broke up bits of Skor bars into it.

Friendly's: Butter Crunch

butter crunch

Haagen Dazs Dulce de Leche

Ah, ice cream should be a food group!

I love Ben & Jerrys Cherry Garcia, (incidentally, the only flavor they don't export ) rum 'n' raisin and any good quality vanilla ice-cream. We tried mushroom ice-cream in SF a year ago, it was not the worst thing I've ever had. Wouldn't put it in a casserole though.
