mint chip. Not too interested in the brand, The cheapest works for me, as well as home made. I do not like Breyers.

Me neither, the texture is too stiff, mint chip rules!

Gelato flavors: mine is Pistachio, YMMV

Hagen Dazs was making gelato for awhile, I don't know if they still do.

If I can't get gelato, I do enjoy Ben and Jerry's, which still seems okay after their sell-out.

Moose, I like Strawberries and Cream too, but I can't remember who makes it, is that Hagen Dazs?

When I used to have an ice cream maker, my favorite flavors were peach and vanilla.

The Strawberry and Cream ice cream I love is made by a very small UK dairy company called Loseley ( which you get in theatres so every time we go to see a play I just have to buy one). I don't usually like chocolate ice-cream as it never seem to taste of real chocolate but Loseley's double Belgian chocolate is delicious). And they also make peach and cream in summer which isn't bad.

I find B&Js to be much sweeter since they have sold out to the big boys. I love their milkshakes though.

I really don't eat ice cream all that much, but if I buy it, the spouse will eat it.
I wonder if Ben & Jerry's uses high fructose corn syrup now? Wow, the 80's sure are over, huh?

I don't eat ice-cream that much either, it's always a bit too sweet for me . It tends to be in the theatre actually. Always makes the interval seem less boring ( another one of my gripe, why do we need intervals?) .

B&Js IMO are definitely as good as they used to be. You might be on to something about the high fructose corn syrup. And yep sadly the 80s are truly over, though not for me, my glory days !

I gotta second Ohiogirl81's vote for Greaters in Cincinnati. Why, even Oprah called their butter pecan the best ice cream she had ever tasted.

Plain old Breyer's Natural Vanilla. I like Breyer's peach also and they used to have lemon-vanilla that was good. I like coconut ice cream at Thai or Vietnamese restaurants. I do like Schwan's ice cream sandwich. I like all kinds of flavors but always go back to the basic.
