I thought I heard that on St. Patty's, Catholics got a reprieve from Lent for the day? Or is this just for green beer? Or, is this just a made up thing in Savannah?
On Thursday meat is allowed but not on Friday. St Patrick is patron St. of Boston so if living there often the Bishop will say meat is OK. Depends on the bishop and where one lives-
Leftover Guinness beef stew over cornmeal waffles and a side of mashed potato casserole. Dessert is lemon cupcakes with a strawberry-orange sauce with vanilla ice cream.
Ribeyes that didn't turn out to be the best, organic farm market swiss chard and broccoli. The broccoli was over grown, I think. About half gone to seed, and very strong tasting.The chard was good but not enough!
I am going to be an oinker this eve and have another serving of sloppy joe. All I did was brown the meat in butter with onion and pepper. Drained it then added Maulls Sweet and Mild sauce, put butter on two slices of white bread and made a sandwich I actually had to eat with a fork.
