I wonder what IP users are going to make for the Holidays, or what you have already made. As a new user, I am keeping things simple. There will be blackeyed peas on New Year’s Day at our house. I love them cooked with pork and tomatoes. I add the latter at the end of cooking time.
I am also intriged with cooking shrimp. And one evening, I will make a pot of chili for a houseful of guests.
What about you?

I don't celebrate Christmas, but I used my IP yesterday to make chicken soup from scratch, and today to make mashed potatoes to take to the Christmas Eve dinner we were invited to.
Shrimp comes out great in the IP but definitely underestimate the cooking time because it cooks FAST! If it's not quite done, you can put it on Saute and let it finish cooking over that heat for another minute or two.

We got unexpected snow today. We were going to pick up a few things at the grocer's, like possibly shrimp, but opted to drive straight home. So, I made dinner that included brown rice I had cooked last week in the IP, and was reheated. And kale. I cooked kale in the pot and it was delicious. I did it without a recipe. We ate every last bite. I added a little chopped, canned tomato and topped with an IP cooked egg, and the kale looked very festive. Everything I've made so far as tasted very good. Even when I didn't get it exactly the way I wanted, it still tasted good.
I used it to bust out some wild rice for the stuffing.

For a family get together this Saturday, I’m making chicken wings in the IP. I’ll cook them a day ahead. I’ll crisp them in the oven shortly before we eat them. I hope they turn out OK.
I've got beans in the IP this morning. I like to make beans and chill them, and reheat them. I have high hopes for these. I am making Maya Coba beans, which are sort of like great northerns, only slightly bigger and more yellow in color. They are some of my favorite beans.
But I had to use several sources for timing and liquid amounts. I have a timing chart which I used, checking out similar beans, and a couple of recipes. My big beef is that recipes don't always agree with timing charts. And I had to check a recipe I was not using for liquid amount. (4 C) I wasn't going to go over the halfway mark on the inside of my pot! And I did not.
I finally ordered my third IP cookbook, Laura Pazzaglia's one, hoping that it would have master recipes for things. Then I saw another one that might be better.
I really don't need a bunch of detailed recipes, although I appreciate that the recipes I've gotten from IP recipe books cover a range of eating styles. I need master recipes that I can tweak for our tastes. Does anyone know of a source?

The groups I have looked at are closed groups.
But I would like to have a one stop reference for basic recipes, cooking times and liquid volumes. I have a table for beans and some other types of food.
