This actually works! We were told this when we moved here, so I go down the road to the stand & buy some (and it's cheap, compared to honey in stores, tastes better, too).

Also, I like to use it in my banana bread recipe & any other application that requires a sweetener.

Fresh, warm, buttermilk biscuits, slathered with butter and drizzled with honey. Now, that's a true Southern dessert.

I didn't see anyone mention this yet.. but don't store the honey in a metal container (it reacts with the slight acidity of honey). Many people say to not even use a metal spoon to scoop it out, but I'm not too sure about that one. Also, high heat will destroy many of the wonderful enzymes in the honey, so try not to heat it too hot.

Enjoy it - like someone else said, it's pure gold

eat a spoonful everyday. Local honey is great for preventing allergies! Honey also has an indefinite shelf life so it could last you forever

I have a spoonful of honey whenever I am craving sweets. There's only about 20 calories in a small spoonful and it will get me over the overpowering urge to eat that candy bar that's just sitting there calling my name.
