Why would you do that? If the waiter had the same viewpoint you'd get a different flavor every time instead of what you wanted. If I ask for a "Coke" I want the stuff from Atlantain the red can not a root beer, SevenUp or black cherry soda.
Back in NJ, there is endless debate over Pork Roll versus Taylor Ham.
But we do get along the "Taylor Ham" folks, regardless of their incorrect view on the topic.
I grew up in North Jersey, where I have read pork roll is frequently referred to as Taylor Ham, but I never heard that term until I read it on the internet a few years ago. My father and I always called it pork roll. I mean, it is very clearly named Taylor Pork Roll, no?

When I was a kid, cola = Coke, even if my mom bought less expensive C&C Cola or store brand. I've never been a cola aficionado. I remember drinking Coke & RC Cola, but not Pepsi. By early teens I was on to Tab. Now, I hardly go near the stuff other than a rare craving once every few years.
