I refer to all sodas as a "coke".

Why would you do that? If the waiter had the same viewpoint you'd get a different flavor every time instead of what you wanted. If I ask for a "Coke" I want the stuff from Atlantain the red can not a root beer, SevenUp or black cherry soda.

But we do get along the "Taylor Ham" folks, regardless of their incorrect view on the topic.
I grew up in North Jersey, where I have read pork roll is frequently referred to as Taylor Ham, but I never heard that term until I read it on the internet a few years ago. My father and I always called it pork roll. I mean, it is very clearly named Taylor Pork Roll, no?

That's 7 UP Coke or black cherry Coke. I don't see a problem.

LOL No problem here.

When I was a kid, cola = Coke, even if my mom bought less expensive C&C Cola or store brand. I've never been a cola aficionado. I remember drinking Coke & RC Cola, but not Pepsi. By early teens I was on to Tab. Now, I hardly go near the stuff other than a rare craving once every few years.
