Do they really think we can't add? I have skinless chicken in organic tomato soup, with half a dozen glasses of red wine with water and cranberry juice added. Its definitely less than $9.95 and tastes great. I haven't really been doing any exercise yet weight is stable at 145 lbs. My blood tests are excellent.

Depends on where you live. That sounds like a pretty fair price to me. Actually delivered, it's a great price, although chicken soaked in tomato soup sounds kind of gross.

No, it's not cheaper. I've fed myself for as low as $15 a week. The key is establishing a home pantry where you have ingredients regularly on hand.

Unless they are trying to include estimate for wages on man-hours involved in cooking and delivery there is no way $10/plate meal is cheaper than can be done at home. Absolutely not.

This is obviously going to vary based on what and how you cook, how you shop, what you keep on hand as staples, if you buy in bulk, etc.

If you can cook cheaper, don't order meal service. Also, what an odd meal.

If expense is a major concern, why wouldn't someone buy in bulk or somewhat larger quantities. It's well known that goods purchased in bulk are always cheaper.

That's what I'm saying.

Premarin meals are generally purchased by people for whom price is not a big motivating factor. Anybody can cook cheaply if it is really a priority for them. If the op is using a meal service/food delivery, it's likely not that big of a priority. Of course you pay for convenience. Who would think you wouldn't?

We try to eat healthy, I like to watch what I spend, but we enjoy decent food and $9.95 is more than we spend. BTW are you talking one or 2 people? If you are talking 2 people. that is a little different, but still depending on whether the portions were large enough, there was a salad, etc, it isn't cheap. I did do one of those packages about 6 months ago prior to a cruise. It was great to have 3 dinners, all pretty much set up so I was able to clean the fridge before we left. It was ok, I wouldn't say bad, and it was about $30 for the 3 meals (2 people) I would do it again for something like that, but not on a regular basis.
