Miserably hot and the small garden is producing like there is no tomorrow. Hamburgers beef/pork with all the good stuff in them, freezer fries (yes!), big salad, cold beer.
I feel for all of you in this nasty heat. It is brutal! I do not feel like cooking or even eating much. I think I will make a batch of tuna salad. We can have that on buns with lettuce, our garden's first tomato and onion slices. We can have a pickle and chips as a side. Not the healthiest but it works for this heat and humidity.
Hot day and there are still fajita makings left, so we'll have that for the third day in a row, and I'll spend my time shopping and prepping for the Fourth instead.
We are expecting a cold front tomorrow. It will be a high of 94.
I am not joking.
Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to make the tomato soup and cheddar cookies I never made the other day to celebrate the 4th. We are going to the local VFW for their free hamburgers between 12-3.
Tonight I will take a Trader Joe's gorgonzola-walnut lunch salad and stretch it out with some additional lettuce and some sugar snap peas.
Plums for dessert, and I'm thinking of s'mores cooked on a bamboo skewer over the gas stove flame, if this is even possible with the mini marshmallows I have.
