*small voice* I like Miracle Whip on baloney sandwiches. So shoot me already.
My Aunt Edna made killer potato salad. At every family get together, there was a huge bowl of it and that bowl always went home practically licked clean.
After she died, Mom called her daughter for the recipe. Simple. Cubed cooked russets, chopped celery, sliced pickle, chopped egg, very basic ingredients. But the dressing? Miracle Whip based. Mom said “I can sub out the the Miracle Whip.â€
Nope. Whatever the difference is between Mayo and Miracle Whip, if you used mayo it was wrong. And not good at all in this recipe. Mom tried it. Gave up and bought the miracle whip.
Oh boy, I haven't had one of those since my teen years maybe?
My current city just opened its first Dairy Queen about a month ago and had huge lines. I'm waiting for the excitement to die down and then will get a Peanut Buster Parfait, my favorite treat when I was a kid growing up in the Midwest.
Ok, here's mine - don't judge me:
1. Rice Krispy Treats - the homemade ones with marshmallows, butter and vanilla extract, not premade
2. Krystal/White Castle Burgers (already mentioned)
3. Frozen chicken pot pie
4. Hamburger Helper - Cheeseburger Macaroni
5. McDonalds Chicken McNuggets
6. A GOOD, authentic pack of ramen
7. Tuna casserole
8. Boiled Peanuts (Hey, I'm a Georgia girl at heart!)
9. A dish called Mexican chicken my aunt used to make. https://www.momdoesreviews.com/2017/...y-family-meal/
10. When I was a kid, my mom used to make "hamburger surprise". It was basically ground beef, macaroni, tomatoes, and whatever vegetables she had on hand. She would add a bit of seasoning (garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and parsley). Perfect comfort food with warm toasty bread.

A lot of kids today don't know the deliciousness of homemade rice krispy treats.. I made them a few times when my kids were young... yes, it was a sticky messy PIA, but damn it was worth it. I won't eat the packaged ones, yuck.
