That's exactly what it's like.

I actually think this version tastes better than the one that takes more effort to make. lol

Do you drain and rinse the beans first?

Yes.

In the cooked version, it actually calls for about 6 Tbsp. of the liquid in the can, I suppose for both moisture and thickening, but for this version you just drain and rinse.

Default Do you still eat foods that you know will cause hearburn, belching?

LOL, just thought I would ask, are there foods that you love but they do have after-effects yet still eat? - I'll still eat them and deal, life is too short.

I mostly avoid them; a moment of pleasure in the mouth doesn't always make up for digestive discomfort. But sometimes it's worth it.

I still eat them, too, but either preceded or followed by something to alleviate the discomfort.

Wheat makes me sick, so I don't eat it, which is hardship, but it makes me really sick and it is not worth the trouble that follows. if I could eat it with no more consequences than some burping or heartburn, I'd probably eat it.

Fish sometimes makes me sick, too, but I don't like it much, so its no hardship to give it a pass.

I can't think of anything else that gives me problems.

Yeah, watch out for that fish. My mother started with getting headaches and an upset stomach with fin fish in her 30s, then she had a swordfish dinner and broke out in hives and had trouble breathing. Dr told her not to eat it again. She was OK with shrimp occasionally.

A few of my subs inherited the tendency, and it started with headaches and upset stomachs. I am fine. Eat fish several times a week.

Sometimes spicy food comes back to haunt me but I love it and eat it anyway.

Mustard makes me sick to my stomach. I try to avoid it but taste it here and there.

Red wine does give me serious heartburn, but fortunately I like many varieties of white. A for other foods, I moderate but still eat them. I like some spice, and some greasy foods, gravies and sauces will give me trouble, so I just don't pig out on them. The minor discomfort is worth it.
