I would like to get suggestions on which cheeses are good smoked.

There is a new smoker in the family and the family bar-b-cuer did a smoked pepper jack that is quite nice melted over a burger and makes a killer grilled cheese sandwich.

What smoked cheese do you all enjoy?

Well, that thread title offers options
Gouda or most semi hard ones do well in the smoke.

I've done Gouda and Cheddar, which turned out great. I would not do Swiss again.

I was confused by the title, by the way Gouda is really nice in my opinion.

I saw the title and thought to myself "why would someone want to smoke cheese? Isn't tobacco doing it for them anymore"?

Smoked Gouda is one of my favorite all-time foods. Makes a heavenly pair with honeycrisp or Fuji apples. Smoked provolone on a sandwich with cold cuts (turkey, salami or other cured Italian meats) is really good too. You could also smoke cheddar for broccoli cheese soup.
