The recipe we use is from a cookbook called "A Standing Invitation (To Gracious Southern Living)" put out by the Dawson United Methodist Women of Dawson United Methodist Church in Dawson GA. The recipe was submitted by Mrs. Austin Greene.

Strawberry - Fig Preserves

6 -Cups figs, peeled and mashed
6 -Cups sugar
2 -(3oz) packages strawberry jello
1/2 -Cup white corn syrup

Combine all ingredients in boiler. Bring to a boil and simmer 30 minutes. Pour into hot sterilized jars leaving 1/2 inch headspace.
