OK, we are having the pork chops and gravy, mashed potatoes, baked beans, cabbage, and leftover 3 bean salad, and sweet peas w/mushrooms. Wanted to try Elston's chops, but Dad is frying them!

It was broken again, right before I posted that.

It didn't last long this time though.

I brought home two porterhouse steaks. Have hickory charcoal and a Weber. Coconut cream pie is a done deal too. Just got to whip the cream and pile it on....

I think the problem is certainly not helped by the music forum. Look at this page from the //www.city-data.com/forum/music...g-now-172.html thread. See all the embedded videos? Each one of those has to load from another web site every time the page is looked at. Really bogs the forum down. Folks in the music forum, including yours truly like to post links to songs on y-o-u-t-u-b-e. Apparently that site has changed their coding because now when one posts a link, the video is "embedded" in the post as well as the link. You may have seen that here in the food forum as well where someone has posted a link to a video. A few folks have figured out how to prevent this from happening like Pipeweld, 1eyedjack and 6 FOOT 3 who showed this guy how to do it

This is not to say that very long threads like the popular Whats For Dinner? don't also put an extra load on the system. But we have all seen these long threads closed from time to time for that reason. I note the recent technical issue shut downs of the forum began happening at the very same time as the embedded videos showed up. My 2c qw

Ok...SMG sent me an DM explaining the monthly changes in the threads. Here is a copy of her DM to me:
Whomever has the first post of each month will be the person that "starts" that next months thread. It is according the the forum date/time stamp. I will take that post and move it to a new thread.

I'll be honest, I doubt if I will sit up until midnight the last day of each month just to keep this thread in my name. Sigh.....I know this is my thread and that will never change. I know each and every one of you and that won't change either so we'll just keep it going however it goes! As long as we can enjoy each other and share our meal ideas that is what really matters. And whoever is the one that does that first post we know it will be one of us!! I'm fine with that!

I am making a Hong Kong Styled Steamed Monk Fish. I have lots of leftovers in the fridge, so I am sure that something will go well with it.

Happy Weekend All!!!
