Too much water not enough cream, that goes for many non-premium brands like Turkey Hill and even Breyers. They should call it Iced water and cream.
They usually call that what it is -- ice milk. Cream being more expensive to use! I never tried Blue Bell before but if their safety is that sketchy it doesn't need to be in my freezer anyway.
They resumed production only at the Alabama plant. They said it's going back into stores on a limited basis.
We always bought Blue Bell--we like to patronize Texas-based companies. But after hearing how they ignored repeated violations & continued to distribute potentially hazardous ice cream across the country, no thanks.
My child was in a coma, on a ventilator, underwent dialysis, and very nearly died due to a food borne pathogen.
There are plenty of other companies, who, at least to our knowledge, haven't risked killing people with their product. Until I hear that they do, I'll choose any of them over Blue Bell. I'll miss Home made Vanilla & Mexican Praline, but I'll get over it. I feel sorry for Brenham, but it is what it is.
I agree, I'll miss cookie dough, but I won't be buying Blue Bell anymore.
For anyone who lives where there are HEB stores, their Adams Cookie Dough flavor is a fair substitute for Blue Bell. Haven't tried the pecan pie flavor yet but my sister says it's pretty good.
I do not understand people's obsession with the reopening of Blue Bell Ice Cream, and I live pretty close to Brenham. For one thing, all the other brands of ice cream were still available during the shutdown. But more importantly, it's a pretty sad statement of American dietary habits that restarting the production of a factory producing such a high fat, high sugar dessert would be such a cause for celebration for America, in which obesity is already epidemic.
I find it amazing on this board how many people need to threadjack nearly every thread with their agendas.
The topic is on the availability of Blue Bell products, not on the nutritional qualities of ice cream.

I am glad to see that Blue Bell is back but they have about one chance to make it right. If they have another outbreak, they will lose all of their customers.
On the other hand, look at all the people that Jack in the Box killed a few years back and they are still in business.
I eat real ice cream. Blue Bell used to make that. I don't know when they dropped the ball on ingredients, but the last time I looked at the side of a Blue Bell carton, I stopped counting all the "gum" and the "high fructose corn syrup" (and more--next to "corn sryup").
