I like talking about food and drink, but I am curious about the popularity of these threads entitled something like "What are you eating right now?" and everyone just posts "candy bar" or "taco." Is that interesting to you? Let's get some poll numbers on this one.
I voted "sometimes". I like going on the "what's for dinner" thread to see what everyone else will be eating so I can get ideas of what I can make for dinner, lol.
As long as it isn't mung bean salad and a wheat grass shake I like knowing other folks are having yummy stuff!
PLUS reading through these what are you eating/drinking threads opens up a whole other world for me in terms of foodstuffs I wouldn't even know existed otherwise.
Then I can add them to my list of things to try when I get there.
I voted sometimes. It is more a community builder than a real informational thread. It gives people the opportunity to get to know one another though what they eat/drink/snack/etc. Also, since it is the food and drink board it is one of the few ways to do that and stay on topic.
TomSD....you expressed my sentiments beautifully...I also voted sometimes...I add on to those threads sometimes too for the reasons you cited...it is a bonding with this community on Food and Drink and sometimes I just want to write what I am making for Christmas Dinner or Saturday etc. I may not go back and read all the posts but may read the ones on the last page before I post...it truly is a community builder.
