West of 95, north of Griffin, east of 30th? I would pass. Some of the neighborhoods are decent but it's kind of a mixture of decent older neighborhoods, new condo-type housing and industrial. Weird mix to me. If you really want the canals/etc and you can find a place for a better price, that area would be fine. Just kind of an industrial area, that's all.

dania always had a "weird" crowd in my opinion. It also has the oldest fire station in Broward County. Station 1. old old city

I've lived in the older area of Dania Bch. Hghts. (SW Dania Beach, east of the tracks, just west of Useless One, south of Stirling and north of Sheridan)since 2001 and find it a quiet and relatively safe town; close to the action of FTL and Miami but not part of it.
There is a very diverse and often out there and left and/or right of center population in Dania Becah (white, black,Latin, gay, straight) but except for a few rough areas between 95 and the railroad tracks just west of SW 4th Ave., the neighborhoods are no worse or better than anywhere else in SFL.I have never been robbed, my car bothered or personally threatened or harmed in Dania Beach, and I am a notorious walker, in the evenings and early mornings, too, when one would expect the streets to be an adventure.

Do not move to Dania Beach. Mark my words - you will regret it.

Besides what everyone else has mentioned... You're practically right over the flight path for Ft. Lauderdale / Hollywood Int'l Airport

I know this is an old thread, but why do you say that?

Dania is old, run down, TONS of transient residents, lacking in infrastructure and resources. I cant really think of a nice area in Dania. If you are interested in the area select Hollywood instead.

I spent the entire day in Dania today. We were checking out antique shops on US-1. It just felt weird, almost creepy. The streets were realy unkempt and the people working at the shops weren't friendly or able to answer any of our questions. I also got my palm read, it was the biggest scam in the world! The woman made negative blanket statements and it was just terrible. What a scam!I have never been anywhere like Dania before, and towards the end, we were really aching to get back to good old predictable Aventura where people are mean but at least it doesn't feel like you're trapped in the setting of a Stephan King story.
