need info specifically on the music and entertainment night life in ft lauderdale and sunrise vicinity (Hollywood: live in)

Ok....this post is specifically inquiring about the music and arts scene in ft lauderdale, miami, and sunrise. Of all the things hubby and I love to do is music..we are music fanatics and most if not all of our nighttime activities revolve around music...going to see live bands of all genres..rock. blues. jazz. top 40, etc etc....going to sing karaoke, some dancing, comedy clubs, live jams, music festivals and any and all things music. I know music is a huge scene here in phoenix and i am wondering what the music scene is like in s florida and how far you have to go from sunrise and vicinity to see some good live music and sing some good karaoke, etc. Here we do not live in a major city but live music is so abundant...we can go less than 30 minutes and see tons of great music.

So...what's the scoop on the music scene in and around sunrise, ft lauderdale, and miami, or hollywood?? We are hoping it will be abundant as this is the most enjoyable type of nightime entertainment we do...mostly because music is our live and also because most music activities are usually free. Also..it's important to know because hubby is a musician and looking to rejoin a band if possible down there.
