Ya, here in Madison Wi. A lot of the high dollar homes were built even in the 1920's and 30's, we have a place called mansion hill and all of the homes are of that vintage, I'm sure you couldn't touch them for under a Million. Most of the area houses were built from the 30's to the 60's and all around the Madison lakes are the higher dollar homes and oldest homes.

It's not really that different from SWF. The older homes are around the water, that's just the way it is, that property was the most valuble In the 1960's and was built on first, that's why waterfront homes are the oldest homes now. Smart people with some money will buy up those homes cheap, remodel or do a complete teardown and rebuild and either live there themselves or sell to boomers or out of the country money when the economy turns around, and it will

No! Lol!

I wasn't. I just meant that all of these homes are in a nice area and most of them have been owned by the same people since they were built. My DH's grandmother has known some of her neighbors since the day she moved to Cape Coral over 30 years ago. It's a quiet, friendly, neighborhood. Not infested with crackwhores or pedophiles.

I'll be here all week. Be sure and tip your waitresses and bartender.
So a proper salutation would be "hi, hi-napster" ?

Hmm...so we're figuring out user names today? Does Tommy-105 indicate you are very skinny or very old?

I was surprised justNancy was available when I joined. I don't know why I picked it, since my name is Virginia.

I never knew what Hiknapster stood for. I figured she had the hiccups and took a lot of naps.

Hilarious that your name is Virginia

I'm still trying to figure out what a knapster is!

Hope you realize I was joking. My name is really Nancy (actually it's Nechama, which means comfort in Hebrew)

Awww...thank you. The black one just got back from the "bad place" today...(the vet). He tried to rip a toenail off and she had to take it off for us...$118.00 "pedicure" later, he's home and feelin' perky!

I love the old, family names or those reflecting heritage. I named my kid that way, her name reflects four generations of her father's heritage and a miraculous healing of her great grandmother attributed to St. Dolores in Spain. No "Brittanys or Ashleys" here! (dolor means PAIN in Spanish...how very appropriate!)

Well, my parents were just using an old family tradition of naming a newborn after a dead relative. When I got old enough to ask, my mother told me I was named after one of her aunts. From what I understand, nobody really liked her, but she was the only dead relative who didn't have a namesake. (and people wonder why I need therapy!) Nancy is on my birth certificate, however.
