I am about to move to Fort Worth at the end of this month (nov.) for a job at the Fort Worth Zoo. I dont know much of anything about the area and would love ANY suggestions!! I am mostly looking for insider views of places to live and good neighborhoods. I would like to be within driving distance to the zoo. I am looking for either an apartment or townhouse. Any information about this area would be helpful because I have a very very short amount of time to move. Thank you.

Congratulations on your job! I've heard from several people that the Zoo is a great place to work. There are a lot of apts. very close by because that is also the TCU area. Because of that, the prices are probably pretty high. Just north of the zoo on University is the 7th St. area...Montgomery Ward, So 7. Those are probably pretty high also...sorry if I sound negative. I don't know your price range, but do know that all these places are really upscale.

Hulen has apts and I think there are some townhomes in there as well. Bryant Irving has a TON of apts but it is a little further away from the zoo. You just have to be careful around the zoo because it is close to TCU, there are alot students, if that is something that you don't want.

South Fort Worth is pretty ghetto, I'm doing my best to find a place around White Settlement, Lake Worth, or Saginaw. I work in Forrest Hill and want nothing to do with that area because I have kids.
