Our daughter and SIL will come for Spring Break
We love City Market BBQ in Luling--say 4.5 hrs from our house--and our daughter has eaten it many times.
Our SIL has never been there and doesn't know what he is missing.
IF we drove to Luling the day before they fly in from FL--what is the best way to transport brisket and link sausage for them to eat the next day?
Should we use dry ice in cooler and basically quick freeze it to thaw the next?
Just wrap in foil and keep in regular cooler w/ice?

I want to damage it the least amount before they eat it

Any one tried doing something like this before?

I would say that wrapping it in foil and using regular ice would be fine. Personally, I would not want dry ice in an enclosed car, even if it is in a cooler...

Foil, 'blue ice packs'. Avoids water getting in the foil and BBQ

is there something about dry ice I am missing--
I don't think I have ever used it but know that companies use it for shipping perishables/food packs

the blue ice packs are good idea and no problem to acquire--
but I am sure that driving from here to the BBQ place will cause them to warm up
are they ever sold already frozen do you think?

Dry ice - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dry Ice is frozen carbon dioxide. That's not something you want to put in a car. Commercial perishables shippers can use it if they have lots of permits. It causes burns if you touch it with bare skin, too.

Ice packs and blue ice are a lot better, and a lot safer. They will be fine for a 4 hour drive.

Blue packs if you are packing in foil.

If the BBQ is in baggies you can use ice.

If yall are ever in Groesbeck/Mexia area try Kirby's BBQ- our fave.
