I came back into my home town of Fort Worth recently, I've been in South Texas for the past 3 years. I was heartbroken when I went to Ridgmar mall again! So, I have 3 questions about Ridgmar Mall....

#1: What was the name of a cd store that was located in the mall in 2009? I used to go there a lot in my late teens, but I can't quite remember the name...

#2: What were your favorite stores they had in the past?

#3: WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL OF THEIR STORES?! Ridgmar used to be a great hangout and they had so many stores and I could stay there all day! Now, there's hardly anything I like!

Not sure on your first question. I always liked going to El Fenix when I was a kid and my favorite part of the mall was the big spiral ramp. Not even sure it's still there.

Neiman Marcus is moving out and headed for the Edwards Ranch development between Hulen and Chisolm Trail Parkway in a couple of years. The mall is slated to get a pretty big makeover soon and, if successful, this would easily be the 3 or 4th time in my lifetime that it's been brought back from the dead. The big retail growth to the north of the mall shows that there's a market for shopping in that area.

#1. Answer: F.Y.E. For Your Entertainment - Before that it was called Sam Goodys.

#2. Answer: Rave & Dallas Pro Shop.

#3. Answer: A lot of stores have been filing chapter 11. Nothing specific to Ridgmar Mall, but rather malls across the country as a whole have been experiencing this. Also, a lot of retailers have opted to move to strip centers for cheaper rent. Ridgmar Mall is renovating currently, opening a new H&M location, expanding Journey's and much more is to come.
