Unless I'm mistaken, Wyoming is 50th in total population and 49th in density. I'm sure that comes into play. We have suburbs with population numbers higher than Cheyenne.

Texas insurance rates are on the high end (large weather events along the coast in recent years don't help), but tags and gas prices here make driving relatively cheap.

West/SW Arlington/Lake Arlington will fit the bill nicely. You can still get a nice home in a nice neighborhood for that around here. Our neighbors send 3 kids to the local elementary, and they do as well as they would anywhere else.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. We're moved into our house after six depressing weeks in a local apartment complex. The local schools were super accommodating, they let our kids start with proof of a contract on our house so we just drove them over until we closed on it.

I've been blasting over 20 to Collins and taking it north in the morning, as 360 is a frigging joke. I've gotten on as early as 6:10 a.m. thinking it'd be clear due to being early in the morning... nope. Still a parking lot. Inexcusable IMHO but I don't want to sound like a griper from out west lol. Collins is a ghost town that early in the morning, which is great. 360 isn't that bad when I go home at 3:30.

Yes, 360 heading north in the morning, and south in the afternoon, is a parking lot thanks to the developments in Mansfield and Midlothian. Even with the added toll lanes, it's still not going to get any better. I'm glad Collins works for you.

Where did you end up buying?
