In the city where I live its billed per cubic feet. If you live rural you have a minimum of $ 30 charge for them to have your water out there...

I have heard that many times about a fee ( minimum fee ) . Maybe I just got lucky ...I wonder if this is the case in many cities ?

I paid $14 last month for a family of 4. In a semi-arid area where we live off snow melt from last winter since it only rains an inch a month. Where we run sprinklers 3 times a week just to stave off dead lawns.

I think one cubic foot of water equals 748 gallons.

I hope you mean 7.48 gallons. Think about it! 55 gallons is the volume of the ubiquitous barrel.
