I avoid Scamganic food like the plague......unless they are cheaper than the chemical-soaked brand.

Only time will tell if that was a smart thing to do.

15% difference in price? I don't think so. There are very few "National Brand Names" on the produce aisle, with the exception of bananas and the organic bananas are double the price, not 15% higher. The "national brand name" bananas are the same price as the non-national brand name bananas. They are not close in price to the organic bananas.

In all the aisles of the market, organic labeled is much higher in costs than 15% higher.

Not to mention, that people who are careful with the budget do not shop at the stores known to have the very highest prices.

People do price surveys all the time. My wife's old grocery store does them. She has recently started on as the market manager of a Farmer's Market, that Farmer's Market does them. The Buyer's Club I sell to does them. Our state 'federation of FMs' does surveys.

There are lots of people doing price comparisons every week. Obviously prices fluctuate. Overall the long term average holds at around 15% difference, at least it does in this area.

Not necessarily, that's like saying steak is steak no matter where you get it. Huge differences out there.

Which green bean?
Over 130 varieties of green bean are known.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_bean
Green beans, also known as string beans, or snap beans in the northeastern and western United States, are the unripe fruit and protective pods of various cultivars of the common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris).

They are distinguished from the many differing varieties of beans primarily grown for their dried seeds in that green beans are harvested and consumed with their enclosing pods, typically before the seeds inside have fully matured.
. . .
The world of vegetables is far greater than what you can buy at Aldi's or Whole Foods.

This is absolutely not true in any sense. Serve farm salmon & wild salmon at the same meal & ask which taste better; also farm raised salmon has very little of the omega III oil that wild salmon have & we are told is beneficial for us. 0 for 2... I do occasionally buy farmed salmon but you get what you pay for.

All I know is that ever since I started eating Paleo and stopped buying processed foods - I have actually saved money weekly at the grocery store.

Disclaimer - I am single and am not feeding a family - I know that would be more difficult.
