Your Favorite "Always Comes Back" Plant (flower, Clematis, Ferns)

Mine is this ground cover, which grows in our shady back yard. I can always count on it to look lush and fresh and the white in the leaves livens up dark areas under the trees. In really hot weather it will wilt, but 1 cooler day and it's back again. I never really knew it's name but I really love this plant!

O.K. I have TWO! The next is a Shasta Daisy Plant, almost ready to bloom. I bought a pack of SD seeds for 10 cents 4 years ago, and dumped them in a flower pot. Boom! They grew, the next year I transplanted them along the house, and they are still going strong!

I've got a creosote bush in a huge pot on our patio. It struggled a little at first (I assume different sun angles than at nursery) but it has become quite happy now. It smells really good on cool mornings.

I suspect I could forget to water that thing for about half a year and it would make a comeback as soon as it rained.

For me it would be a toss up between my lovely lacy astillbe plants that bloom for a long time and the daylilies that look so very pretty.

Cosmos. I bought a single pack of seeds two years ago. I'm still pulling the &*#$(& things out of beds I don't want them in. But I do love them in their own space. I've given the entire backyard over to them this year. I can mow the edges if I need to.

Oh, they are. But they always come back. And never where you had them planted the year before.

From about 2 dozen plants, I collected a quart sized ziplock bag of seeds. And I didn't get every single one.

My favorite in Blue Star Amsonia. I moved some over 400 miles and they adapted well. They bloom for along time, have a dainty light blue flower and right now some have long greenbean looking seed pods. I just love them.

Oh wow, I have too many, because I don't fool with annuals (except this year I tried some zinnias again....love zinnias).

ajuga 'Burgundy Glow' (lives year 'round for me),
some kind of native phlox I got off the roadside (blooms for months!),

Well, Luv, I have many others too. One of my favorite semi-perennial plants is datura. It blooms all summer here and just keeps reseeding itself all over. By the end of summer, the plants will be covered in huge blooms. It's nice that they're fragrant too.
