I drilled holes in my 3 tree stumps and used all the usual recommended products for three years. Then, I had a new landscaper over because I gave my neighbor a full grown hinoki cypress and he was moving it for us. He quoted me $250 to remove 3 tree stumps (same day as she was paying $300 to move the hinoki cypress). Okay, that's a heck of a deal and I thought they were going to grind them down. Nope! Big guy with a shovel and an axe spent about 2 hours attacking them. I don't have any proof it was easier because of the three years I spent trying to kill them.
