Hi everyone. I purchased the sprayer that already contains some of the food in it along with a box of extra plant food. It is supposed to rain tonight (overnight) and the next two days. Should I wait to spray until it has passed or go ahead and spray this evening??? Thanks for your help.

What do the directions say?

With Miracle-Gro, I think you'll be ok if you spray it as long as its not raining when you do it...

The directions dont say anything thats why Im asking. I don't plan on spraying when its raining. That makes no sense. What Im trying to find out is will it be fine to spray before the rain and help soak it in OR do you think it will be washed away with the rains??

I would check the local radar, that's the only way you're going to know for sure....these local forecasts are calling for a chance of rain/thunderstorms all the way till the end of the week. When they say "chance", maybe we'll get rain, maybe we won't.....

If it doesn't look like there will be any rain coming for at least a couple of hours, then you should be ok to go out and do it....g/l

I would wait until the rain is gone. Don't let the soil dry out completely, but it shouldn't be really wet either. You want the plants to be in a situation where they want water. If you do it before the rain with really dry soil, the plants could absorb too much nitrogen and burn.

I use it after a rain or watering from the hose or rain barrel.

I sprayed Herbicide on the state right of way for almost 20 years. With Round up and most chemicals they say if it is on the foilage long enough to dry, it won't be washed off. I would say it's about the same with Miracle Grow.
My dad has part of a co-op garden outside of town. There's no hydrant nearby so he uses the sprayer you're talking about to fill a 5 gallon bucket of the mixture, then pour it in gallon milk jugs. Makes it easier to water the plants with Miracle Grow.
