So far have found Anglicans, Lutherans, Methodists and Catholics in mine. How about in yours?
My family bloodline is pure English for the most part...have the family tree back to the 1700's in England. So....for the most part, that side is Methodist or some other form of Protestant faith. On my Mom's side...pretty sure everyone was Catholic. Her family from Canada and beyond that France, and Netherlands. We were raised Catholic..old world Catholic..it was scary at times but has changed quite a bit and is more relaxed than it ever was "back in the day".
yes we have.. ma grandfather came to Scotland with my gran, and started a large family, all Protestant.. but the older boy misbehaved by running off with a horse and cart..at age 13 and was banished back to Ireland for some silly reason to be brought up by my grans sisters.. all catholic , when he was older and getting married he changed to Catholic.
There was the one Catholic priest who was excommunicated before he came to America in the mid 1600s, but he converted to Lutheranism.
I married a "not Lutheran" - he was raised non-denominational Christian. It was a big deal in my family. To try to blend our beliefs, we went to a Methodist church for a couple years, but now we go to a Nazarene church. My religion is mocked and I'm treated like I'm in a cult. Most of them don't even attend church, but still identify themselves as Lutherans... and whisper about my brainwashing behind my back.
Currently, there is also Islam and Rastafarianism...
