Anyway, the postcards are priceless! Although the messages were written in pencil (faded) there is one that brings a smile to my face. It was sent by my 2nd great grandfather from Ok to my grandmother in Wildwood FL (1910).

"Dear child what is wrong with your mother she didn't answer my long letter hope you are well all well her writ and let us her. A.K." Some things never change.
It's maddening to have troves of old pictures you can't ID. I have tintypes, originals. I can ID my great-great parents in them, but no one else. Some folks look clearly related, but no names. My only solace is that the last person who could likely positively ID these folks died in the 1960s, before my time, so they have been a mystery for a long time.

This card was sent by the patriarch of a large family that moved from GA to OK after the Civil War. KIKER . It appears they held annual reunions in OK and according to Facebook, they also hold these reunions in TX. Funny thing is that many years ago I inherited a group photo of a large family and I had no idea where the photo was taken nor who the heck these folks were. However, I swear to God, one of them looked like she could be my Aunt's sister. Over ten years later, one of my first matches (23andme?) an unknown 3rd cousin emailed me an old nwspaper clipping that included a group photo of a KIKER reunion. More Okies included BARCUS & KEMP.
Honestly, most of the postcards sadden me. My grandmother had horrible things happen to her at a relatively young age, and it pains me that she lived a sad, relatively short life.
