I used to live in Des Plaines IL, often mis pronounced "Day Plonns" I think St Louis, the "s" is not silent, but I'm not sure. There is a town In Delaware pronounced "New Ark" unlike the city and airport in New Jersey. I have heard the capital of Ohio pronounced "Coll-um-bus" with the accent on the first syllable, that is incorrect. There is a suburb of Chicago Matteson, pronounced "Matt-son," but many pronounce it like the capital of Wisconsin. In case you forgot the State capitals"
