Myrtle Beach crime is mostly related to the tourists who get drunk and do dumb $h!+.

The palmetto bugs really aren't that big. They might initially freak someone out who's not used to them, but they are harmless.

Thanks for the feedback. Actually, if you discount the nighttime beach traffic, I suppose that Myrtle Beach, proper, might be lower than many cities in NC/SC, crime-wise.

Speaking of bugs, any idea as to how frequent most homes are exterminated down that way--and typical cost for the exterminator?

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't say it's very often and the cost shouldn't be high.

The Triad in NC is pretty cheap & is a nice area although it's not doing as well as the Triangle or Charlotte metro.
