I've lived my whole life in the midwest and enjoy the four distinct seasons but I would love to live in the Pacific Northwest someday. The overcast, cool days and drizzling rain appeals to me significantly. I love it! Meanwhile, my least favorite climates are probably any Cfa regions (read: the entire southeast US) and Bsh or Bsk climates (deserts). The heat is unappealing plus its too damn bright because everyone decides they want to build sandstone and bright colored things down there. :P Mediterranean, which many people consider ideal, is still too dry and sunny for my tastes.
SoCal has the most ideal climate all year round, however it gets BORING because it's the same damn thing every single day. my uncle just moved up here to CT after living in CA his whole life and he said he won't miss the same weather every day: 70, sunny and dry.

I can tell you it sure ISN'T the South or the Lower Midwest. Winters are dark, grey, and wet. Then, you might be lucky to get a few weeks of Spring before the 5-6 month HOT/HUMID renlentless Summer kicks in. The best season is Fall, but only lasts for 1 MONTH. In short, HORRIBLE.
Yes, the only season that isn't as nice is Spring. One can get out and enjoy the snow through winter sports, which just isn't possible without traveling in many other parts of the US. Also, many SUNNY winter days which is an added bonus. The extra advantage is the fairly mild Summer and Fall temperatures that are quite comfortable overall.

I don't think I could do that. I would miss the weekly (even in "winter") car shows too much. And going for a bike ride in January in 70 degree weather.
BTW, it's not sunny and dry all the time. Los Angeles has an average of 35 rainy days per year.

It only rains between November - April in Southern California.
May - October is virtually rain free.
But still, LA gets over 300 sunshine days a year - that's a lot!
I have become quite partial to the weather patterns here in the NW, it was always hot and sweaty all year around in SoCal. along with the smog. The air is always fresh here, and the sky is always pictureisque.
You probably need to see a doctor if you were always hot and sweaty in SoCal. Along the coast it rarely hits 80 and inland it's warm to hot maybe one month a year. Been in SoCal 30 years and what you said has never been my experience except for late August and early September and with AC and the beach...
i was going to say coastal california, generally between LA and SF, but that includes a lot of different climates, and I don't consider that in the same region with southern california or the pacific NW.
There are not a lot of climates between LA and SF. The change is very gradual.
