Sorry, we are the strip club capitol. We can get a little carried away when it comes to panties or the lack thereof.

Don't listen to this crap. The Silicon Valley still has more tech jobs than Houston will ever have.

While your statement may be true, leave it to somebody from the Dalazz peanut gallery to spew something that adds nothing of substance to the discussion.

2011 overall job growth
Houston 87,300
Dallas 56,500

You mad?

Nah, Why would I be mad? This whole thread was to boost Houston's image as a tech center, but it isn't working.

The Business Journal is a pretty reputable publication. It covers information of several cities across the country. I don't see why they would post anything less than accurate. Their primary focus is on business transactions, acquisitions, and jobs from all sectors. I seriously think the only time information like this is considered bunk on here is when it involves Houston.

And that would speak more to your paranoia than anything else. This article comes from PR Newswire, whose explicit purpose is to pump companies; it doesn't claim to be an unbiased source.

Yeah he is mad because Dallas isn't adding as much middle class as the other metros:
A Recipe for Middle-Class Jobs - WSJ.com

Wall Street Journal ranks them far behind Houston in terms of middle class job growth over the last ten years. Houston ranked second with 23%, Dallas was last among the cities chosen and below the national average

So when dallaz wants to come in and talk smack about Houston he better check his metro first. Dallas have been adding a bunch of retail and fast food jobs and they expect to become a mega city on that.

Don't get me started hun.

^^These.

As far as the "crushes" wording, maybe it was comparing Houston's 149% to San Jose's 100%... though that's still pretty darn impressive for San Jose after already being so high.

10 Best Places for Tech Jobs - US News and World Report

Houston
Compared with the rest of the country, Houston—like Texas overall—is doing pretty well...........Today, Houston ranks high for total tech job postings and has above-average ratios for tech job postings to employment in multiple occupations.
So again, this article from US NEWS MONEY in 2009 is using the same criteria. Anyone care to dissect that article which is basically saying the same thing as the original article?
