Possibly because both of them moved to L.A. Also, Kobe is from Lower Merion (not a big deal in my book, but it is to some) and more importantly, he said he'd "rip the hearts out" of the Philadelphia fans. So, there's a lot of bad blood.

I guess he could, if he wanted to, move back to Philadelphia and spend his retirement there. If he did that, I'm sure Philadelphia would be willing to welcome him back as one of their own. I just don't see him doing that.
